TACKLING RISING RURAL CRIME

03 Aug 2023

Rural crime cost UK farmers an estimated £49.5m in 2022, up from £40.5m the previous year, with agricultural vehicle thefts up 29% and high-tech GPS equipment thefts increasing by 15% to £1.8m.

Amid the landscape of soaring values and low supply of farm machinery, the once opportunistic intruder is quickly becoming increasingly more organised; now targeting high-value GPS systems and fuel assets, in addition to quad bike and machinery thefts from years past.

The need to deploy discrete, highly reliable site protection has never been greater.

Nova Security Systems, the Kent based security specialists with over 20 years of industry experience have been using TAKEX perimeter security sensors to great effect, with our range of twin (PB-TE Series) and quad beams (PB-FA & PB-IN-HFA Series) used to trigger floodlights and high-output sounders to detect and deter even the most tenacious of intruders.

Fitted with optional thermistor heaters to avoid nuisance alarms from frost or condensation prevalent in rural installations, our infrared beam sensors (PB-TK Series) create a quick, long-range detection barrier that is invisible to the naked eye.

"Creating an impenetrable line of invisible protection, TAKEX beams can be deployed as standalone perimeter intruder detection systems, or to compliment CCTV as part of a layered security system, providing first-line, real-time event signalling regardless of weather conditions or time of day."
