Project Overview
Securing multiple automotive-related facilities, including new and used car lots, a centralized body shop, and a vehicle staging area. These locations accommodate vehicle storage, servicing, and sales operations across several dealerships in the Kansas City area.
Primary Challenge
The customer faced recurring theft incidents, with criminals targeting high-value vehicle components such as catalytic converters, batteries, and premium wheels and tires. The challenge was to implement a highly reliable and effective perimeter security solution to prevent unauthorized access and deter criminal activity in these expansive outdoor areas.
Products Deployed
Quad Beams mounted in towers were installed across the site. These sensors were selected for their ability to provide reliable, long-range perimeter detection across the large outdoor automotive facilities.
Reason
Infrared beams were chosen specifically for their durability and consistent performance in demanding environments. Given the exposure to weather and the need for reliable operation around the clock, they offered the ideal solution for securing high-value assets in open vehicle lots.

Outcome & Impact
The TAKEX system replaced a previously inadequate solution and has since demonstrated a strong track record of performance. Significant reductions in theft incidents have been observed, and the end users have reported high satisfaction with both the technology and its effectiveness.
System Integration
The perimeter detection system is fully integrated with video surveillance and audio intervention features. Security dispatchers monitor the system in real time and can communicate with intruders directly, often deterring criminal activity. and in some cases assisting with apprehensions.
Longevity
This is a permanent, long-term installation, with systems in operation since around 2010. The extended performance history underscores the durability and effectiveness of the TAKEX solution over time.
