New commercial building built as a barn

Commercial barn

Project Overview

Located just a few miles from the ocean, a newly built commercial property designed as a barn, complete with storage areas, overhead doors, windows, RV storage, a corporate board room for company meetings, and a designer restroom.

Just outside the main building is a covered ATV storage area connecting the main barn with an RV storage building. Shortly after construction, vandals started damaging the exterior and disabling lighting fixtures.

Primary Challenge

The environment presented a number of installation challenges. Based on the size of the property and concrete surfaces surrounding the building, pulling cable would be costly and time consuming. Exterior conduit was also not an option due to strict aesthetic requirements of the property.

A wireless perimeter solution was essential; one that could offer reliable outdoor detection, discreet installation, and seamless integration with an existing intrusion system, all while withstanding the coastal climate.

Outcome & Impact

Three months after deployment, the TX‑114FR detectors have proven invaluable. The system has produced zero false alarms and has already played a key role in preventing a theft attempt.

Effectiveness

Shortly after installation, two of the detectors were triggered when an unknown individual approached the ATV storage area, with a second alert following at the RV building door. Thanks to early detection, the intrusion was interrupted before any damage or loss could occur.

The solution effectively mitigated risks across all vulnerable outdoor areas, demonstrating the value of extended wireless perimeter detection for complex site configurations.
